What’s On in Border: 19 - 21 January

EAST LONDON

Friday 19th

  • The next Run Swim Run, hosted by Tribal and the Nahoon Lifesavers Club is back! The Triathletes, fresh for a devastating defeat by the hands of the Surf Lifesavers, have unfinished business.... let's see who'll win the next round in this epic RSR series! The race consists of a 500m Beach Run, a 350m open water swim, followed finally by a 1.5km Beach run. The race is high intensity, and hotly contested. Registration is at TRIBAL. It's R50 entry. The entry covers a free drink at the bar after, compliments of Nahoon Lifesavers Club. For more information check out their Facebook page.
  • After a very successful run in December, Dramsoc has decided to present one final run of "Spectacular Spectacular!" on 19 and 20 January, as requested by the East London audiences. "Spectacular Spectacular!" is an energetic variety show, and audiences can look forward to performers such as international champion dancers, Ashley Behrens, Chace Collett and others. Tickets will be available at Lee Gold Music from Wednesday, 9 January at R80 per person and audiences are invited to bring picnic baskets along. Tickets will also be on sale at the door. Saturday 20th

  • The Three Silos Parkrun takes place every Saturday morning at 8am. This is a 5km run, and it is you against the clock. Register with them today and enjoy a morning in the fresh air. This weekend the Parkrun celebrate Back 2 School with a themed run for the kids going back to school this year. Dress up as a student and relive your school days while enjoying the Park run as always. For more information check out their Facebook page.

Sunday 21st

  • Tea in the trees, on the Chintsa west corner is now OPEN on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9am till 2pm. Friday 19th

  • The Duckpond Morning Market takes place every Friday and Saturday morning. You can purchase some great goodies, including jams, pickles, second-hand books, cakes, second-hand clothes, quiches, crochet, knitting, plants and more!

Saturday 20th

  • The Woodlands Market takes place every Saturday beneath the trees at Woodlands Cottages and Backpackers in Grahamstown Road. Here you can enjoy some arts, crafts, delicious foods and more. The market opens at 8am.
