The Final Curtain for Whose Line PE

BY JESICA SLABBERT - NOVEMBER 30, 2017

After running for three years, it was with a heavy heart that the Whose Line PE Tuesday nights came to an end this week at the Bru Bar in Walmer, Port Elizabeth.

Whose Line PE, is Port Elizabeth’s own improvised comedy show where anything can happen. Set up much like the classic TV show, the audience sets the scene for the four comedians, who have to bring their best comedic game and try to score as many points as possible, despite the fact that they don’t actually matter.

Created by Algoa FM presenter Roland Gaspar, the show has garnered much attention and popularity over the three years it has been running, making a home for itself in the Bru Bar. This show has become South Africa’s longest running improv-comedy show, bringing in guests from all over South Africa and beyond.

Though the final curtain call has come for the show’s regular Tuesday night performances, Roland has promised that this is not the end for Whose Line PE. There will still be shows taking place, only they won’t be every week anymore. He has advised fans to keep track of when shows will be on the Whose Line PE Facebook page.

The last show was completely sold out and by the end of the evening there was not a dry eye in the house, people were laughing so hard to the point of crying. Having been to the show three times I always leave with a smile on my face and a stitch in my side.

Though I don’t know when their next show will be I look forward to it with great anticipation.
