What to do on Valentine’s Day in the Bay

It’s Valentine’s Day, and while for some it’s a day to share with the ones you love, for others it is just another ordinary day of the week. But thanks to its popularity, Valentine’s Day has produced a ton of fun and exciting events taking place in Nelson Mandela Bay.

Here’s a list of fun things to do on Valentine’s Day, whether you’re a couple or single, these events can be enjoyed by all.

Valentine’s Day Dinner

Head on down to the German Club in Lorrain and enjoy a delicious dinner made with love. Enjoy a salmon starter with venison carpaccio to a main of stuffed chicken breast with garlic potatoes until finally enjoying a sweet dessert of Austrian chocolate mousse. Singles-Awareness Day

If you don’t want to be subjected to couples everywhere being lovey-dovey and such, head on down to The Duck in Mount Pleasant and enjoy a gathering of fellow singles who don’t share much with the Valentine’s Day joy. My Pawfect Valentine

If you are looking for a great place to spend the evening with your loved one and wouldn’t mind raising funds for a good cause in the process, then you should head on over to The Bru Bar in Walmer!  By simply paying an entrance fee of R100 you will be helping local charity Domestic Animal Care and Cat Rescue PE raise funds to help animals in need.  Live music for the night will be played by Peter Prinsloo and lucky draws will take place on the night.  Mexican Evening – Valentine’s Dinner

Beans With Wings in Heatherbank Road, will be hosting a Mexican-themed evening on Valentine’s Day for those couples who enjoy a little salsa in their life. This will be a magical evening, upon arrival you will receive a sangria welcome drink, a 3-course meal will be served from their food stations on the patio and background music will be played by Ben-Richard Du Toit to help set the mood! Entrance is R150 per person and bookings are essential. Book a table for six or more and receive a bottle of wine on the house! Anti Valentine’s Day

The famous Mexican cantina in Walmer, Chingada’s, will be hosting an Anti Valentine’s Day (AVD) event from 6:30pm until late. Now don’t get the wrong idea amigos, because Chingadas is all about LOVERS. But Chingada's believes that all their hombres need to feel loved, all of the time, because only doing something special once a year is a huge crock. This will be their 7th annual AVD event and they dedicate it to all single and married men and women across the Bay. Performing in the dining area this AVD are GUITARRAS FLAMENCAS, who are the incredibly talented Spanish Guitar Duo of Justin Horn and Rob Thompson! Valentine’s Day Dinner 2

The Roof Garden Bar will be hosting a Valentine’s Day Dinner from 7pm till 10pm for an evening of romance. Enjoy a complimentary drink upon arrival, a3-course meal, a bottle of Krone champagne, a professional photographer to capture every moment and the soothing tunes of a live Jazz band. Valentine's Day Drive In Movie Theatre

The Something Good pop-up drive in movie theatre is back in business by popular demand! Bring your valentine down to their classic pop-up drive in movie theatre at Something Good Roadhouse, offering fun for the whole family. From 6pm kids and families can enjoy the Disney romance of Lady and the Tramp while romantic couples can enjoy time alone from 8:30pm and watch Pretty Women.
