Evita Bezuidenhout is back in PE with two shows!

Well known socialite and political commentator, Evita Bezuidenhout, is on her way back to the Bay to present two shows to her adoring fans.

Played by South African satirist and social activist, Pieter-Dirk Uys, Evita will be at the Little Theatre where she will deliver her views on the current political climate and sudden changes that have recently taken place in South African politics with her show EVITA!

“This show is basically her State of the Nation Address. She will talk about where we come from and where we are going, and its going to be very interesting being in Port Elizabeth now that there is a new president in South Africa. Of course Evita is a member of the ANC so she’s very careful with what she says, but she will definitely illuminate many areas for the audience,” Uys told RNEWS.

However, the second show will not be starring Evita.

Uys will be taking the stage himself as he delivers his memoirs of his life in Echo of a Noise.

Pieter will tell the tales of his life growing up in Cape Town during the times of struggle in South Africa.

“The second show is very different as it is essentially my story behind the story. It’s a memoir about growing up with my musical parents in Cape Town and then coming face to face with the spotlight and satire and fighting apartheid with humour and trying to make sense of chaos,” he explained.

“I’m very excited to be at the Little Theatre because it’s very nice there. I always enjoy performing in Port Elizabeth because the people there are very politically minded. They are very aware about what is going on in politics.

“The nice thing about it is that you come to the shows to have a great time, that’s what I think.”

EVITA will take place at the Athenaeum Little Theatre from the 22nd until the 24th of February, and Echo of a Noise will take place in the same venue from the 26th until the 28th of February.

Tickets for both shows are available at Computicket for R130. Tickets for EVITA are available here and tickets for Echo of a Noise are available here.
