When it comes to accommodation at Edens Touch Guest Farm, visitors can choose to either stay in one of the four beautifully-designed chalets or the two restored historical clay cottages.

The restored clay cottage is a 150 years old and equipped with a double bedroom, a small lounge, TV with DSTV and a double sleeper sofa, a bathroom with a bathtub and shower and a kitchenette. There is a spacious covered dining deck set in the beautiful fynbos garden with a private braai and splash pool.

The clay cottages are filled with beautiful furniture that has been hand-crafted by local community members. The cottages are semi-detached but have their own private garden and plunge pool and braai area, that guests can enjoy.

The chalets have been named after the indigenous plants and trees, privacy and magnificent views are guaranteed no matter which chalet you stay in, and each unit has their own private splash pools.

The Assegaai Chalet has two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom and a double sleeper sofa in the reading nook. The chalet comes equipped with a lounge that has a TV with DStv, an additional sleeper sofa, a full family bathroom, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a fully-equipped kitchen, dining room, a spacious wrap-around entertainment deck, a private fynbos garden and a braai nestled under the shaded trees.

Meanwhile, the Candlewood and Doringhout Chalets are two bedroom chalets that come with a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The chalet comes equipped with a lounge that has a TV with DStv and a double sleep sofa, a dining room for six, a fully-equipped kitchen, spacious wrap-around entertainment deck, a private fynbos garden with a braai and beautiful views of the Garden of Eden.

Erica Chalet is the Honeymoon Chalet and is set in a fairy tale garden that is completely private and secluded. The chalet comes equipped with a Queen-bedroom with an en-suite walk-in bath for two, a lounge that has a TV with DStv, a double-head shower-room, a fully-equipped kitchen, a covered dining deck that overlooks that fynbos garden, and a private braai.

Facilities at Edens Touch

As Edens Touch is situated in a beautiful forest, you are likely to notice abundant bird life, the indigenous trees and fynbos, bushbuck and the occasional baboon troupe. There are wonderful trails to walk through so you can explore the beautiful forest either on your own or with a guide.

Picnic baskets can be provided for you that you can fill with your own special snacks and enjoy while you sit in the shaded areas or by the stream and enjoy the bird life and occasional buck or vervet monkey.

Daily servicing of chalets is included in the rate. A laundry facility is available upon request and firewood for the braais is available upon request, at an additional fee.

If you are travelling with the kids, a playground is available for them to play in and keep themselves entertained. Babysitting services are available upon request.

Restaurants with a good mix of service, food and ambiance

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance.  Of these, service is the most important. 

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion.  However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review.  We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.

How do you know when you have had a great spa experience?  The answer, of course, is when you doze off on the treatment table. 

Well that’s our theory anyway.  It also doesn’t take a grand location with enormous facilities for a spa to be really good
