MOSSEL BAY

Friday 15th

  • Quiz night is happening at the Santos Express Train Lodge! Join in on every Friday night at 7pm for a fun filled evening! Bring your team of 2-6 pals, put on your thinking caps and join in the silliness! Entry fee is R10 per person, book a table in advance to avoid disappointment. Cash and other prizes to be won. Saturday 16th

  • The Hartenbos parkrun is a free 5km run/walk at Kleingeluk, Oudtshoorn road (R328). Grandparents, parents and children are welcome. Every Saturday at 8am regardless of the weather.
  • This year, Skydive Mossel Bay will be hosting a Summer boogie right here at Diaz beach, featuring British Freefly champion Joel Strickland as load organizer. Joel and his team Varial Freefly were UK national champions three years in a row. For more information check out their Facebook page


HAKERVILLE

Saturday 16th

  • The Hakerville Village Market will be taking place from 8am till 12pm on the N2 halfway between Knysna & Plett. Mouth-watering breakfast and a broad selection of delicious foods and drinks. Interesting and creative crafts. Gentle music and all the ingredients for a most relaxing morning. Ample parking.


GEORGE

Friday 15th

  • The Milkwood Village Night Market: Quaff your favourite wine, nibble aged cheeses and munch kebabs straight off the coals while listening to live music. Milkwood Village is an all-year-round meeting place with a lovely vibe. Every Friday from 4pm till 9pm.
  • Colin Ralston will be giving a fascinating talk from 8pm till 10pm at the Garden Route Botanical Gardens about frogging and our very own prince charming’s. You'll be able to enjoy spotting the frogs, exploring the wetlands and listening to the sounds of the African bush. You'll need a flashlight and a very good ear to track their calls, and lastly lots of enthusiasm! For more information check out their Facebook page.

Saturday 16th

  • The Market Lane Crafts and Food Market takes place at Donnerail Square, Behind Market Street, in George every Saturday from 8:30am till 2pm. For enquiries, contact Bes at 083 701 5352.
  • The Berg en Dal Hiking Club meets up every Saturday during the summer months in the parking area (Kerkstraat) of the NG Kerk, Courtenay Street to hike distances that vary from about 8 to 20 kilometres. They welcome anyone who has a love for nature and is reasonably active to join for an invigorating time walking in the beautiful environment that is the Garden Route. 
  • The George Park Run takes place every Saturday from 8am at the Botanical Gardens. It is a 5km run – it’s you against the clock. It’s free! But please register before your first run. Only ever register with park run once. For more information check out their website or email info@botanicalgarden.org.za  
  • The Outeniqua Farmers’ Market takes place from 8am, and is a five-hectare site which is home to nearly 80 food and craft stalls offering produce and goods created by local farmers and skilled craft people. The Market is located opposite the Garden Route Mall on the N2, and takes place every Saturday.   • Curro Westbrook is very eager and enthusiastic to be hosting their annual “Outdoor Cinema Movie Night with a Christmas twist” from 6pm on the grounds next to the Castle. This will definitely be a Festive night to remember, under the stars! Please bring along your Christmas hats and decorations and let’s celebrate the Festive Season approaching us! The movie "Sing" will be aired. Tickets are available at R30 per adult and R20 per child. This will include your entrance to a “Sing- along Karaoke” of Christmas carols and a movie! The First 100 entrants will receive a FREE chocolate milkshake and a Glow stick.

Sunday 17th

  • Come on down to the George Showgrounds from 10am and enjoy the Boerevintage Gift Market. Enjoy a spread of quality, handmade gifts and products from across the country with a total of approximately 150 exhibitors. Spend R250 or more and get entered into the 35 lucky draws held over the course of the market! Entrance is free, for more information check out their Facebook page.
  • The Albert Frost and Kevin Floyd Project will be taking place from 1pm till 4pm at the Muj? Bar & Restaurant. Entrance is R100 per person, children under the age of ten can enter for free. To make a booking contact 072 562 2937. For more information check out their Facebook page


KNYSNA

Friday 15th

  • The Knysna Friday Night Market will be taking place at Knysna Montessori School (off Welbedacht Road) from 4pm till 8pm. Enjoy a wide variety of food. Bar available. For more information, call 044 382-5316.

OUDTSHOORN

Saturday 16th

  • Doc Maclean - Blues Legend will be performing at La Dolce Vita in Oudtshoorn from 8pm till 11pm. Entrance is R100 per person, for more information check out their Facebook page


PLETTENBERG BAY

Friday 15th

  • The Plett Ski Boat Club will be hosting a Fishy Friday’s event throughout the day. Enjoy the Catch of the day and Chips at R59 per person; add a bottle of Porcupine Sauvignon Blanc for R50 – All Day Special.
  • Summer in Plettenberg Bay just got a whole lot more fun! Join in as you are taken over two of the best venues our town has to offer. With The Bungalow being a stone throw away from the crystal clear waters of hobie beach and The Sky Villa Boutique Hotel having the best 360 degree view of Plett, we could not ask for better venues to be hosting these events. Sunday 17th

SEDGEFIELD

Saturday 16th

  • The Wild Oats Market is an exciting and significant landmark in the heart of South Africa’s garden route; this multiple award-winning WILD OATS Community Farmers' Market is located on the outskirts of the tiny coastal town of Sedgefield, adjacent to the beautiful Swartvlei lake-lagoon and takes place from 8am till noon.


WILDERNESS

Friday 15th

  • Start the weekend right at a festive village market ‘under milkwood’ from 4pm. Quaff your favourite wine, nibble aged cheeses and munch kebabs straight off the coals while listening to live music. Milkwood Village is an all-year-round meeting place with a lovely vibe. Mosey around the arts, crafts and unique clothing stalls, eat yummy food, slake your thirst with a pint at one of the pubs and just enjoy the vibrant magical atmosphere beneath the old White Milkwood trees.
