Friday 10th

  • Wolfgang Tillmans’ touring exhibition, Fragile, is opening in Johannesburg Art Gallery on 8 July 2018 until the 30th of September. After making stops in Kinshasa and Nairobi, the economic hub of South Africa will be the third African city to host Tillmans.
  • A vibrant selection of inspired trends will be showcased at Africa’s premier décor, design and lifestyle exhibition, Decorex Joburg 2018 sponsored by Plascon, taking place at the Gallagher Convention Centre from 8-12 August. Themed “Rhythm of life”, visitors will have access to a variety of globally influenced designs and trends which have been localised to suit the African home. Tickets are available at Computicket.

Saturday 11th

  • Following the huge success of its event last year, the Cradle Boutique Hotel celebrates Women’s Month with a top line-up of activities at its Wine, Women & Song Festival on Saturday, 11 August and the Contemporary African Pop art exhibition on Saturday, 11 August and Sunday, 12 August. Children can join the Cradle Explorers Club, with trained field guides taking the youngsters on a two-hour nature walk expedition. The cost is R85 per child, including a tasty bites-packed picnic box. Wine-tasting tickets can be booked through Webtickets here or purchased at the Cradle Boutique Hotel on the day. Sunday 12th

  • Some of the country’s best boutique wines and bubbly – made by female wine makers – will be showcased at the upcoming Women of Wine South Africa (WoWSA) Festival on Sunday, August 12 from 11am till 4pm, in celebration of Women’s Month. Music will add to the relaxed atmosphere and there will be food and entertainment for children.  Tickets are R150 a person with children under the age of 18 free. Go to www.webtickets.co.za.
