You can't help, but be mesmerised by the Komati Gorge Lodge
Mpumalanga is fondly known as ‘the place where the sun rises’. With its incredible landscapes – an untouched expanse of majestic cliffs, winding rivers, rolling hills and Highveld grasslands, it’s no wonder it’s one of the most desired tourist destinations in the country.
For me, and I am certain many other travellers will agree, among the best accommodation offerings in this part of the world is the Komati Gorge Lodge and Wildlife Reserve.
It doesn’t matter whether you are interested in fishing, hiking, horse-riding, target shooting, archery, 4X4 drives, birdwatching, canoeing, paintball, or simply relaxing in the wilderness, Komati Gorge has it all – including a luxury spa!
The Komati Gorge has seven different accommodation options to choose from, each catering to your specific needs. The Firefly Cottage can sleep up to four people; it has one Queen-size bed and two single beds. It also has a full bathroom, as well as a fully-equipped kitchen and a private veranda with a braai.
Meanwhile, the Leopard Suites and the River Lodge Suites can sleep two people each; are equipped with a lounge area with a warm fireplace, a large bathtub with a separate toilet, and a private veranda with a braai. Unlike the River Lodge Suite, The Leopard Suite has a small kitchen with a dining area, however,
the River Lodge Suite is the only accommodation that includes a three-course dinner as well as breakfast.
Another offering, the Kingfisher House, can sleep up to eight people with two Queen-size beds and four single beds. It is equipped with a lounge with a fireplace, a dining area with a kitchen, as well as a private veranda with a braai.
Then there is the Zebra Cottage, which can sleep up to seven people; has a huge lounge comes with a luxurious fireplace and dining area, a lovely kitchen, two en-suite bathrooms, a loft room and its own veranda with a braai.
The Yellowwood Manor can sleep up to twelve people. It has a large lounge area with a bar and dining area, a fully-equipped kitchen. There are four bedrooms and a loft room for children. Yellowwood Manor is situated right along the river, so you can have the best views while you relax in tranquillity.
Each offering comes with DStv, fresh towels and linen as well as electric blankets. Pets are more than welcome, provided they are well-trained.
