Find total tranquillity at Kam’Bati River Resort

BY JESICA SLABBERT - FEBRUARY 8, 2019

Where the Sonderendrivier and Breede River meets, you will find the tranquil Kam‘Bati River Resort. The Resort is situated on the Jubileeskraal farm just 20km outside of Swellendam and is owned and managed by the Badenhorst family.

Kam‘Bati River Resort allows guests to experience the adventure and luxury of glamping by the river. They offer grassed campsites with electricity and clean ablution facilities, self-catering cabins and AfriCamp tents.

Whether you are travelling with the family or are enjoying a romantic getaway, Kam‘Bati River Resort is the perfect place to spend a holiday or long weekend away from it all.

Kam’Bati River Resort lets you experience total relaxation outdoors

The campsite is perfect for families looking to enjoy the tranquillity of nature and a view of the Breede River right outside their tents.

There are four campsites to choose from. Three are located right next to the Breede River while the other is located near the entrance of the campsite and offers views of the majestic Langeburg Mountains.

All campsites have access to normal plugs, though you will require an extension cord 20m long, and are within walking distance of a convenient ablution block.

A daily cleaning service is provided for the campsites and a braai drum can be provided upon request, though as the resort has a limited number its best to bring your own to ensure you can have a traditional South African braai.

The campsites have a minimum stay and blocked days during school holidays and long weekends, but the Kam‘Bati River Resort owners will do their best to accommodate you if contacted in advance.

“What a feast for any child... we enjoyed the stay, nice and clean facilities and lots to do. We can recommend this resort to anyone that enjoys the outdoors. We will be back soon. The campsites are just as beautiful on the river. Well done team Kambati.”

Kam’Bati caters for couples and families alike

The self-catering cabins are perfect for guests looking to enjoy a romantic escape for their holiday. There are four cabins to choose from, each located right by the Breede River banks. One cabin is specifically for a couple while the rest are suited for small families.

The couple’s cabin is equipped with a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, a living area that flows into the private braai area and a fully-equipped kitchen. Though the cabin is only meant for couples, you are allowed to bring your small child with you provided you bring a mattress and bedding for them.

The rest of the cabins can sleep four people, with two bedrooms and a bathroom. They come equipped with an open-plan living area with a fully-equipped kitchenette, TV with DStv, and a loose braai drum that you can move anywhere you please.

For the adventurous family, which loves nature, a stay in the AfriCamp Tents is just what you need. A maximum of five guests can be accommodated in the AfriCamp Tents, with two Queen-sized beds and a bunkbed.

“We stayed in an Africamps safari tent at Kam'Bati. The safari tents are beautiful and very well equipped. It was a big surprise they have so many facilities for children. The tents are far away enough so you won't be bothered by any noise. Nice place to stay.”
